Francisco Macedo

SVP of International Operations, Iconic Luxury Hotels

Francisco Macedo is the Senior Vice President of International Operations for L+R Hotels’ luxury portfolio, Iconic Luxury Hotels, overseeing a prestigious collection of properties including Palm House in Palm Beach, Florida, and the Excelsior Venice. With over 25 years of international hospitality experience, he has held senior roles across leading brands such as Tivoli Hotels and Pestana Hotels & Resorts, where he was instrumental in high-profile openings, acquisitions, and large scale refurbishments.

Previously Group Operations Director for Iconic Luxury Hotels and General Manager of the iconic Cliveden House, Francisco has led the refurbishment and repositioning of several landmark properties, including Bovey Castle in Devon, which was awarded 5 Red Stars during his tenure.

A Master Innholder and recipient of the 2023 Hotel Cateys Manager of the Year award, Francisco is a passionate advocate for developing future hospitality leaders and for promoting the industry as a respected and rewarding profession. He works closely with universities and colleges, actively supporting the next generation of talent, and sits on several academic advisory boards.

He also holds advisory positions with Springboard, the Institute of Directors, and serves as Chair of the Institute of Hospitality’s South East Region.

Francisco holds an Honours degree in Hotel Management from ISAL University, a Master’s in Executive Leadership, an MBA, and completed both the General Managers Program and the Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management Certificate at Cornell University.
